From July 17 to 20, 2025, the Bandierai degli Uffizi took part in the 28th edition of the Festa del Renaixement in Tortosa, Catalonia, one of Europe’s most prestigious Renaissance reenactments.
During 15 performances over four days, the Florentine flag-wavers were warmly acclaimed by the audience with the cheer “Visca Fiorenza e Tortosa”.
Group leader Antonio Marrone expressed great satisfaction for the appreciation of Florentine traditions in such a rich historical reenactment context.

About 60 reenactment and folk groups from across Spain and many European countries took part in the event.

This experience represented an important cultural exchange between Florence and Tortosa, strengthening the bond between the two cities through the flag-waving tradition.
